Hi. please can any Alertay Developer help on this. . . if we can pass Buyers' address, name ,loginname, country, & phone number ... etc to the payment page automatically without rewritting it again the same we pass ap_merchant, ap_purchase . . etc?? what are the variables used for buyers information?? can we use cURL for that purpose or NOT?? best regards

I'm not sure if I understood your question properly...But if you are trying to populate the fields on the payment page by passing variables, then this feature is not currently available. However it will be available in the future.

If you want to pass extra info about your customer/product, you can use the custom fields: apc_1 to apc_6
Please note that these are only for the merchant to pass extra info and are not displayed on the payment page and cannot be used to ask the buyers to enter information.

I have something to be explained
now business account can add more than 1 email with one primary for their account. but adding emails doesn't allow us to add multiple ( ipn url), does it??.... now this is the point. . can we have multilple ipn url for different subdomains in our business account

You may set up more than one IPN in your AlertPay account. Please read below on how to do so.


If you wish to have an additional IPN, you must first create another business profile (sub-business account) in your AlertPay account.

If you would like to set up another business profile for your Business account, please follow these instructions:

1. Log into your AlertPay account
2. Click on "Business Tools"
3. Under 'Standard Integration', click on "Manage Business Accounts"
4. Click on "Add"
5. Enter required information for new business profile, including email addresses and URL
6. Click on "Submit"


Here are the steps to create a another IPN:

1. Log into AlertPay
2. Click on "Business Tools" tab
3. Click on "IPN Setup" [under 'Instant Payment Notification IPN' section]
4. Enter your Transaction PIN and click on "Access"
5. Click on the 'Edit' icon for the respective business
6. Enter the information:
    a. For ‘IPN Status’, select "Enabled"
    b. Enter "Alert URL"
    c. For ‘Security Code’, click on "Generate New"
    d. For 'Test Mode', select "Enabled" [if you are setting up your buttons and would like to test your IPN or button integration]
7. Click on "Update" button

I have noticed this thread is now a year old...

I have recently submitted a ticket that was closed immediately with "We are working on it".  Unfortunately this seems to be the standard answer for more than a year now.  Is there truely work being done to include free shopping carts like:

• Ubercart
• Virtuemart

I would like to start getting money into my Alert-pay account, but cannot do so if I cannot get it to work with a free, easy to use shopping cart.  It makes no sense to me to pay for subscriptions in excess of what I will make in the start-up phase of the project.

PayPal does not allow South-Africans to trade for some absurd reason.  Alert does, but does not support the shopping carts...

I have tried hacking my own alert-pay module for Ubercart, but failed miserably. It should not take an experienced Alert-pay developer more than half a day.  This is for the good of the company - which I will be forced to leave if I cannot get some service out of it.

 

PS: Are tickets not supposed to stay open until the problem is solved?

If all you want is an easy-to-use cart that supports AlertPay then try nopERcart (http://ereimer.net/nopercart.htm).  If what you want is Ubercart then you may need to do the work yourself.

I understand your concerns. Shopping carts are not our main bread and butter, therefore our Development resources are generally devoted to website improvements and improved service offerings. 

There are also multiple programming languages to consider - most developers and programmers focus on a few and not necessarily on the programming language that many shopping carts are created in - PHP. 

There are plenty of commercial and open source shopping carts that you can integrate with AlertPay - ZenCart, OSCommerce, noERcart, etc.

If an AlertPay module is not available, you may have to consider developing this code yourself or outsourcing it to someone who is able to.

You can also use CubeCart and OsCommerce.

I want to start out by saying  that AlertPay is a great service - really great; I like it more than I like PayPal - and can understand the focus of this company is not on Shopping carts.

As I have stated in Other boards; the reason PayPal has shopping carts, and all kinds of scripts that work with it is, CODERS decided to create them; This is what we need here at AlertPay; some people who understand that This site would make More Money, if it's users had More Tools to use.

However, most Coders won't make these tools for free - which, I can understand - however what i Don't understand is why no Coders have taken the MULTIPLE script requests found throughout this board, and decided to write some scripts; They could only Make money by doing so.

Just wanted to share some recent conversations that I've had, along with I suppose Update this thread -  coming in right where I left off apparently ...

I guess the 'downtime' drove some people away; looking into new avenues; here's to the hope that with the Return of AlertPay - the users will come back as well - to where we all left off; Discussing ways to create Scrips, to Make This Billing Option "better" for all of us who use it.

One of the scripts that I really Loved with Paypal - was the "LinkLokIPN" Script -- I've mentioned having conversations with the guy who runs that site, and who writes the fantastic scripts there; and I hope he doesn't mind me sharing what He said to me just last week, after I contacted him to find out if he got the chance to review the AlertPay System - in hopes of writing a script that works The same way for PayPal

Honestly, I don't know what that means; but perhaps someone Here Will have an idea of how to Set the Proper Return URL with the order data and a hash check string... because I've got No clue what most of that means.

For those who don't know; LinkLok is a fantastic Script - but it's not compatible with AlertPay ... here's to the hope that someone can find a solution that is Similar...

I'd like to add my 2 cents to this.  As the co-owner of SmartDD which is also a digital delivery product (free version available), we'd integrate AlertPay in a flash if you'd make it work like PayPal does.  We currently support PayPal and ClickBank.

For instance we grab the transaction data that PayPal returns to us and store it all for later browsing, including the customers unique PayPal ID.  We then use the customers name and email address and also their home or business address to populate their secure download page.  This little bit of social engineering allows us to ensure that not only are the downloads secure, but that the purchaser is unlikely to share a link to their download page.

So what do you think?  As someone has already pointed out, what makes PayPal so popular isn't the service itself, it's all the little creative things that script authors can do with it such as creating rising price nickel sales (another of my products).  We can do this because their interface / API / IPN system is so good.

Personally I'd like to be able to use AlertPay in the same way I can use PayPal, and I regularly get support tickets asking if we can integrate other payment processors to work in the same way as PayPal does, but my answer is usually "Sorry, the processor's API doesn't support it."

You probably already know this, but people don't like PayPal and would prefer to use you guys instead.

Make the necessary changes and we'll be one of the first to integrate AlertPay - we're discussing the integration guide this evening to see what we can do with what we have.  If you make the system better then that'll be fantastic.

After discussing with our Development Team, they are open to the idea of modifying our ReturnURL to make life easier for merchants who sell digital goods.  Any other suggestions you may have to integrate AlertPay with your software are both welcome and encouraged.  Please let us know as we are always open to different ideas that will help merchants and developers integrate our payment system easily.

I am in the process of setting up a digital download site. I would to know whether this issue has been resolved. Whether the proper data is being sent to the return url.
